Questionnaire

The questionnaire will be administered through an interview using electronic devices by employees of the BVA-DOXA research institute.

Questionnaire-based interviews will be conducted in Ossago Lodigiano and will involve residents who are 18 years of age or older but younger than 70 years of age.

The expected duration for completing the questionnaire is approximately 35 minutes. As compensation for your time, each respondent will receive a small gift worth around 10 euros in the form of a shopping voucher.

The questionnaire will be divided into three main sections:

  • the first section will collect socio-demographic characteristics such as age, gender, education level, occupation, and job position, among others.
  • the second section will focus on health conditions and lifestyles, gathering information particularly on behaviors related to physical activity, diet, alcohol consumption, smoking, and gambling.
  • The third section of the questionnaire will be dedicated to collecting information on social relationships. This section aims to reconstruct the network of people with whom the respondent regularly meets and converses. Respondents will be asked to name the people they interact with the most (such as friends or colleagues) and whether these individuals live inside or outside the municipality.

At the end of the questionnaire, we will ask for permission from the participants to be contacted later for a possible interview to further deepen the research.

Based on the results of the questionnaire, in-depth interviews will also be conducted with a subset of the respondents. The individuals to be interviewed, who will have indicated their willingness to be contacted a second time, will be selected to explore certain characteristics related to the phenomena under study. The interview, lasting approximately one hour, will allow for an in-depth exploration of how health behaviors spread within networks. In this case as well, a small gift worth around 30 euros in the form of a shopping voucher will be given to each interviewee.

People who have already completed the questionnaire and have signed an authorization to be contacted again may be interviewed. Before the interview, participants will be asked to sign an additional informed consent form authorizing the recording of the interview to ensure compliance with all rights established by the GDPR (EU 2016/679).
